New Additions

On saturday I added some items to my tank. I added 2 zoanthid frags, 1 kryptonite candycane frag, 1 frogspawn frag, a yellow anemone, 1 sexy shrimp, and 1 blood shrimp. The blood shrimp molted last night, thought he had died already at first. The sexy shrimp hosts my anenome which seems to be doing good and eating well. Once this new bioload settles in I am going to go buy some more zoanthids, a few recordia, and a few acans.

Purple Fire Fish

This is my new Purple Fire Fish. I got it at my lfs for 14 dollars which seems very low. It seems very healthy though. I had to get rid of my emerald crab due to the fact that it was attacking my fish, but now everything is safe. Not sure what I am adding next.

Why This Page Was Formed.

I(charlie)started this blog to track the progress of my 8 gallon Bio Cube. Right when my tank finished cycling my cousin(Devin)decided he wanted a tank too. He got a 3 gallon Picotope. It is a fun hobby to get into and I hope this blog will track the progression of the tanks. I also hope it will be a usefully link for nano forms and such. Plan to get a Purple Fire Fish tomorrow.

Devin(cousin)chose to cycle his tank with a fish so that he did not have to look at rocks for four weeks. He chose a Yellow Tail Damsel which is a very hardy fish.
This tank is going to be the greatest pico ever. There has been another hang on Red Sean Nano filter added, 7.5 watt heater, thermometer, and mag cleaner. The extra filter has made the water super clean and once he gets algae on his glass Devin will know if the mag cleaner works well. This tank is off to an awesome start.

First Coral!!!!

The pictures are blurry because of camera phones/dirty glass so ya. They still show the Xenia pretty well. It is a large frag given to me by my friend. It is a good first coral due to its hardiness. I am just hopping it won't take over my tank.

Devin is stoked for his tank. He has no plan for inhabitants yet. He really wants a flaming prawn goby, but they are a little pricey. Oh well we will see what happens. Jacob I hope you get a good laugh out of all of this.

New Tank For My Cousin Devin/Best Friend

Today my cousin Devin made his final decision on which tank to get. He bought a 3 gallon pico tank. It is now cycling with live rock and sand. Hope it goes well for him. Pics soon.

This is my Green algee. I Think It is healthy, but it has spread everywhere.It is ugly but will hopefully go away with waterchanges. Any sugestions?

My first signs of Coraline algae. Hopefully it will spread quickly.

This is my 8 gallon biocube. It has been cycling for 3 and a half weeks. Inhabitants 2 Nassarius snails, 2 Cerith snails, 2 Nerite snails, 2 Blue Legged Hermit Crabs, 1 Red Legged Hermit Crab, and 1 Emerald Crab. The water levels are almost perfect. Ammonia: 0 ppm. Nitrate: 5 ppm. Nitrite : 0 ppm. PH : 8.3 ppm. 75 Degrees. It has 9 pounds of live rock. 10 pounds of live sand. All stock except for added filter floss in the filter.
